Our Boards

Our boards are made up of experts in iron-related health issues. These include individuals who specialize in body systems, such as neurological (the brain, spinal cord), hormone producing organs (pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, gonads—ovaries, testes;  pancreas, adrenals or kidneys); respiratory system (heart, lung and blood) and metabolic system (digestive tract, liver, pancreas, gallbladder); the musculo-skeletal system (muscles, bones and joints), and in the things that impact these systems such as environment (air, water, food, substances, safety), behavior (psychology, psychiatry) access to care, legal, moral ethical issues, age, genetics, research and best practice guidelines for diagnosis and management of disease.  Our boards represent experts in the relationship of iron disorders to these various areas and to advocating for patients affected by iron disorders by advancing the mission of Iron Disorders Institute.
