A Special Note...

Chris Kieffer, Iron Disorders Institute Board of Trustee Member (retired), former President Iron Disorders Institute
"July Awareness will be recognized here for the 13th year by Crisp Regional Hospital Cordele GA. The number of people diagnosed in Cordele began with my husband Harry and has grown to more than 50! Out of a total population of about 11,000 in Cordele, we are ahead of the average one in 250. You can do the same in your town because I know that NO community escapes hemochromatosis. |
|
It is common and guaranteed to affect someone close to you.
Please help raise awareness in your community with one of the activities IDI supports. IDI welcomes new ideas too, so let us know what you are doing to save lives; we want to hear from you!"
Setting up the "Test of the Month" is easy...
1. Contact the Community Relations director at your local hospital
2. Mention that July HHC awareness is on the national medical calendar
3. Ask if the "Test of the Month" is possible at their facility.
4. If not, ask how can they help raise awareness about this common, potentially fatal condition.
If you wish to talk with Chris Kieffer about how she did this in Cordele GA, email her ckieffer@irondisorders.org
